Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. The shift is 7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays, on-site at our busy main campus.

You will provide patient assessments, triage and trauma care for acutely ill pediatric to adult patients, perform IV insertions and blood draws, and collaborate with an interprofessional team to deliver time-critical care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and perform triage in a Level 1 Trauma ED.
• Deliver trauma care to acutely ill pediatric to adult patients.
• Perform IV insertions, blood draws, Foley catheter insertions.
• Demonstrate time management and critical thinking under pressure.
• Collaborate with LPNs, Paramedics, PCNAs, BOs and Providers.

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually

Required Qualifications:
