Job summary

Olympia Orthopaedics is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Pre-Operative and PACU teams at both Olympia and Centralia locations. The role is full-time with daily operations primarily Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays, with on-call and potential overnight shifts based on patient needs.

Pay ranges from $42.40 to $71.52 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits for 1.0 FTE staff. WA nursing license, IV therapy experience, and certifications in BLS/ACLS/PALS are required or will

• Graduate of an accredited State Board of Nursing program; current RN in WA required.
• Ability to obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within 90 days of hire.
• IV therapy experience including starting/discontinuing IVs and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Administer care to patients pre-operatively.
• Prepare and administer pre‑op medications under physician guidance.
• Monitor PACU vitals and manage postoperative pain and nausea.
• Assess surgical site for bleeding or infection and ensure adherence to post‑op policies.

Registered Nurse, Pre-Operative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit– Olympia Orthopaedic Associates

Location: We have openings at both our Olympia and Centralia Surgery Centers

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Multiple scheduling options are available. The surgery center is primarily open Monday-Friday, but occasional Saturdays may be worked. The Pre-Op/PACU team rotates on‑call, and some over‑night shifts may be required depending on patient needs and recovery time.

Pay: $42.40 - $71.52 per hour

(Pay is determined based on years of experience)

Summary of benefits:

• The benefits outlined below are for a 1.0 FTE employment status. PRN staff are not eligible for full benefits, but may participate in the 401k plan and will accrue paid sick leave.
• OOA covers part or all of the cost for Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long‑term Disability Insurance.
• Employees are eligible to participate in a 401k plan with company matching.
• Flex spending plans, uniform allowances, and an Employee Assistance Program available as well.
• New, full‑time staff will accrue a minimum of 17 days of paid time off per year.

Registered Nurse Job Duties:

Pre-Operative –

• Administering care to patients prior to surgery.
• Administer pre‑surgery medication under the guidance of the physician and or physician assistant.
• Evaluate and access admission documents, identify emergency procedures, and adhere to necessary pre‑operation policies and procedures.

PACU-

• Monitors (heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and respiratory rate)
• Treating symptoms of postoperative nausea and vomiting
• Managing post‑operative pain
• Treating post‑anesthetic shivering
• Monitoring surgical site(s) for excessive bleeding, discharge, swelling, hematoma, redness, etc.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements:

• IV Therapy experience (starting, discontinuing IVs, and administering medication).
• Graduate of an accredited State Board of Nursing program. Current Registered Nurse in the State of Washington required.
• Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
