Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics is seeking a PACU & Pre-Operative RN to provide perioperative care in our orthopedic practice. This PRN role requires a Colorado RN license, BCLS, ACLS, and PALS, plus 2 years in Pre-Op/PACU with orthopedic/acute care experience.

You will assess patients pre- and post-surgery, monitor vitals, initiate IVs, maintain patient safety, and work in a collaborative environment to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing: Bachelors Preferred.
  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license.
  • BCLS & ACLS certification required.
  • PALS certification.
  • 2 years of Pre-Op/PACU (RN) experience in Orthopedic setting preferred.
  • Acute Care: 1 year (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery.
  • Ensure operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
  • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
  • Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure.
  • Assess patients’ post-operative condition.
  • Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria.
  • Log all findings in patient files.
  • Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort.
  • Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician.
  • Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies.

Schedule/Type: PRN

Wage: $50/hr

Requirements
Essential Duties
  • Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery

Experience Required
  • 2 year of Pre-Op/PACU (RN) experience in an Orthopedic setting preferred.
  • Acute Care: 1 year (Preferred)
Education/Certification requirements
  • Degree in Nursing: Bachelors Preferred
  • Current Colorado Registered Nurse license
  • BCLS & ACLS certification required.
  • PALS certification
