Supplemental Pre‑op/PACU Registered Nurse

Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists is looking for a Supplemental Pre‑op/PACU Registered Nurse to support our growing Ambulatory Surgery Center.

NWOS is closed all weekends and major holidays. No night shifts or on‑call.

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct nursing care in conformance with company policies and procedures and ASC standards while advocating/utilizing the nursing process and evidenced based practice.
  • Exert independent judgment in care of assigned patient, maintaining awareness that errors in judgment may result in serious consequences.
  • Accept responsibility for the welfare of assigned patients even in critical and life threatening conditions.
  • Utilize the nursing process in providing care in order to promote a positive and uneventful perioperative experience.
  • Recognize the need for and perform appropriate emergency life saving measures when applicable.
  • Maintain a patient‑centered mentality and the confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and relation to drugs, treatments and other significant incidents.
  • Provides physical safety for the patient per department specific competencies and procedures.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and adjust patient care according to patient responses.
  • Participate in a collaborative effort with other nursing/medical staff to structure patient care.
  • Plan nursing interventions based on individual patient needs, surgical procedures and standard plans of care.
  • Maintain knowledge regarding own responsibilities in ASC Disaster Plan and assist with the direction of staff and patients to function according to the plan.
