Job summary

Appalachian Regional Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in Hazard, KY. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will hold an RN license, be proficient in patient education, medication administration, and SBAR communication, and participate in discharge planning and quality initiatives within a dynamic healthcare

Responsibilities

• Completes patient assessments, formulates plan of care and oversees its implementation
• Oversees and evaluates plan of care using critical thinking
• Administers medications, IV therapies and treatments as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner
• Supervises and mentors assigned staff and students
• Provides health teaching and uses Teach Back to confirm understanding
• Participates in discharge planning and transition of care
• Performs bedside SBAR communication and shift reports
• Maintains a safe and confidential environment for patients and staff
• Advocates for patients and escalates concerns promptly
• Documents pertinent findings in the medical record
• Supports patients with activities of daily living and teamwork
• Drives professional development for self and others
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives
