Qualifications

• Graduation from a state accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in state of practice.
• Completion of critical care course or equivalent training.
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Takes report from prior shift and conveys it to the oncoming shift with patient status and plan.
• Performs patient assessments and reassessments, documents findings.
• Communicates abnormal results to physicians and notifies supervisor as needed.
• Interprets the plan of medical care and develops patient care plans.
• Supervises LPNs, aides, and clerks, and assigns nursing tasks.
• Operates critical care equipment and monitors hemodynamics as required.
