Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit. The unit handles medical, post-surgical, and trauma patients within a Level Three trauma center, with 15 beds plus a trauma bed as needed. Bi-weekly hours total 72 across 12-hour shifts, with rotating weekends and holidays. A sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for qualified experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current AHA BLS for healthcare providers or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-surgical nursing care.
• Monitor telemetry and patient status.
• Administer IVs and collect blood samples.
• Demonstrate time management and critical thinking.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, and providers.

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV insertions, blood draws, post-surgical care

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).


• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio


• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.


• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience


• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN


• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
