Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse for the operating room in Fishers, IN. This part-time, day-shift role supports patients before, during, and after procedures, performing scrub and circulating duties as part of the surgical team.

You will assist surgeons, prepare rooms and instruments, and ensure patient safety in a high-stakes operative environment. A diploma and Indiana RN licensure are required, with ALS/BLS prerequisites and prior OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in Indiana required.
• ALS or BLS within the indicated timeframes after hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Previous OR hospital experience strongly preferred.
• Schedule will be three (10-hour) shifts (7am-5:30pm, 8am-6:30pm or 9am-7:30pm) based on the surgery schedule.
