General Summary
- This role is considered the minimum for all nurses at UMMC with more than 12 months of experience. The nurse will be competent in required skills and fully participate in unit governance. They will practice according to the UMMC Professional Nurse Job Charter, independently providing and coordinating care within a clinical specialty. The nurse will serve as an effective team member, demonstrating a full range of nursing practices, contributing to strategies that improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and cost efficiency. They are accountable to patients and families for care processes and outcomes, to peers for advancing group practice, and to the nurse manager for overall performance.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Successful probation evaluation, current mandatory classes/training.
- Maryland RN licensure or eligibility via Compact agreements.
- Maintain 10 contact hours of education annually.
- Membership in a professional organization.
- Recent clinical experience in a similar setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to lead, such as as charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical resource, and work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in computer systems for managing patient information.
- Knowledge of patient care principles, growth, development, and age-specific needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Patient Safety
- Ensure patient safety and participate in safety initiatives.
- Act to correct safety risks, report adverse events, near misses, and communicate risks to management.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $38.51 - $51.81
Additional Compensation: Shift Differential and Sign-on Bonus
