Company Description

The CNII (CN-II) is a vital member of the healthcare team, providing nursing care to all patients within her/his assigned unit/area. The role involves following the nursing process from admission to discharge, collaborating with other healthcare team members, delegating appropriately, and directing patient care to meet care needs. The CN-II exercises good judgment in patient care and personnel management, promotes teamwork with physicians and staff from other units, and stays current with nursing standards through ongoing education, such as the Nurse Practice Act. The actions and attitudes of the RN should support the hospital’s mission and core values. Additionally, the CN-II should demonstrate the ability to function effectively as a charge nurse and/or preceptor for new staff members.

Job Responsibilities
  • Follow hospital policies and protocols, addressing patient needs in relation to quality measures, National Patient Safety Goals, and patient education.
  • Serve as charge nurse and/or preceptor, working with supervisors to resolve unit-level issues.
  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments, collecting data to aid in nursing diagnoses.
  • Develop and document individualized Plans of Care with realistic, measurable goals.
  • Coordinate resources and personnel to implement the Plan of Care.
  • Administer treatments, including medications, as ordered, and carry out nursing interventions.
  • Evaluate patient responses and revise the Plan of Care accordingly.
  • Document assessments, treatments, and changes thoroughly and accurately.
  • Assess patient education needs and provide appropriate teaching to patients and families.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Facilitate patient throughput, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Comply with hospital policies, standards (TJC, CMS), and participate in staff meetings and shared governance.
  • Support the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Meet continuing education requirements for clinical advancement.
Qualifications
  • Maryland RN licensure or eligibility via Compact agreements; BSN preferred. Up-to-date mandatory training required.
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience with solid clinical skills.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Maintain 10 contact hours of education every two years.
  • Membership in a professional organization.
  • Recent clinical experience in a comparable setting.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of employment in specified departments.

Compensation
  • Pay Range: $38.51 - $51.81
  • Shift differentials may apply.
