Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will have over 2 years of ICU experience.

Position Details

• Title: Registered Nurse - Shock Trauma PACU
• Type: Full-Time
• Shift: Rotating Shift - 7pm-7am / 7am-7pm
• Location: Baltimore, Maryland
• Sign-on Bonus: $20K

General Summary

This role is considered the minimum for all nurses at UMMC with over 12 months of experience. The nurse will be competent in necessary skills and fully participate in unit governance. They will practice according to the UMMC Professional Nurse Job Charter, providing and coordinating care within a clinical specialty, serving as an effective team member, and demonstrating professional nursing practice to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness. The nurse is accountable to patients and families, peers, and the nurse manager for care processes, outcomes, and work performance.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Maryland or eligible via Compact agreements
• Successful passing of probation and current mandatory training
• Maintain 10 contact hours of education annually
• Membership in a professional organization
• Recent relevant clinical experience in a comparable setting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Leadership ability, such as charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical resource
• Proficiency with computer systems for managing patient information
• Knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Patient Safety

• Ensure patient safety and participate in safety initiatives
• Take action to correct risks and report adverse events or near misses
• Identify and communicate potential risks

Compensation

Pay Range: $38.51 - $51.81
