Job summary

SIH seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care across ICU, Progressive Care, Stepdown ICU, and cardiac services. You will assess patient needs, establish compassionate support, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement and evaluate care plans.

You will perform health teaching, document accurately, and float to other SIH units within competency. Illinois RN licensure, ACLS/CPR, and continued education are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Illinois RN license.
• Current CPR/BLS
• Current ACLS card (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients
• Demonstrate ability to use clinical judgement with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
• Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care
• Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel
• Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals
• Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level
