Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking an experienced OR nurse to support scrub and circulating roles in the Operating Room. Location is Pensacola, FL, with Day and PRN schedules.

The role requires Florida RN licensure, a nursing diploma, and ACLS/BLS credentials. You will assist surgeons, manage patient care before, during, and after procedures, and ensure OR readiness and instrument preparation.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following: ACLS or BLS depending on facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
• Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    
    
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    
    
  
  

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
