Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Observation unit on the Night shift (PRN). You will provide direct nursing care according to established policies and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, documenting changes, and carrying out physician orders while supporting effective discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Florida prior to hire date; multi-state license (Compact State) if applicable.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or equivalent licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per hospital policies and procedures.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition to the care team.
• Coordinate disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
• Assess discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
