Job summary

Ascension's Seton Northwest Hospital in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced perioperative RN to provide expert care in the operating room. The role requires you to fluently move between scrub and circulator responsibilities while maintaining patient safety and surgical precision.

You’ll monitor intraoperative hemodynamics, document critical events, assist surgeons with hemostasis and suturing, and help prepare instrumentation and trauma equipment for rapid response.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Texas prior to hire date.
• ACLS or BLS within required timeframe after hire.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care for high-acuity patients, seamlessly transitioning between scrub and circulator roles to ensure surgical precision and patient safety.
• Coordinate intraoperative clinical management by monitoring hemodynamics, documenting critical interventions, and facilitating clear communication within the surgical team.
• Deliver advanced surgical assistance, actively supporting surgeons with hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and specialized patient positioning during complex procedures.
• Optimize suite readiness and sterile integrity through the meticulous preparation of specialized instrumentation and life‑saving equipment for rapid‑response trauma cases.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• 3 plus years of OR RN experience.
