Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin in Austin, TX is seeking a licensed Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to deliver direct patient care during surgical and invasive procedures. • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care as a Licensed Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) during surgical and invasive procedures, ensuring safety and optimal patient outcomes.
• Perform scrub and circulating responsibilities, managing instruments, sterile technique, and real-time patient monitoring to support seamless operative workflow.
• Coordinate comprehensive perioperative patient care before, during, and after procedures, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to maintain continuity and quality improvement standards.
• Assist surgeons with intraoperative tasks including hemostasis, suturing support, wound exposure, and patient positioning to enhance procedural efficiency and safety.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Additional Preferences

• 2 plus years CVOR circulating RN experience.
• 40 hours per week 6:45am-3:15pm Monday - Friday 10 hour shifts. On call required for CVOR surgical cases.
