Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking Registered Nurses to join the Inpatient Medical Surgical Float Pool. Responsibilities include floating across units such as Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, and General Medicine to provide high-quality patient care.

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, Ohio RN licensure, and 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Float across Acute Care Adult Specialty units (Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine).
• Provide bedside nursing care including IV placement, wound care, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN.
• Demonstrate time management and critical thinking while delegating tasks.

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: primary 7p-7a, secondary 7a-7p; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population

• Variety of complex medical disorders

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal
• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care
• Time management, critical thinking, and delegating

Personnel RN Will Work With

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Units RN Will Float

• Oncology, Telemetry, Post-Surgical, Orthopedic, Trauma Step Down, General Medicine

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
