Job summary

Ascension's Via Christi location in Wichita, Kansas is seeking a dedicated RN for the Neonatal ICU. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based neonatal care in a high-acuity setting and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

The role requires a nursing diploma, Kansas RN licensure, and certifications in BLS and neonatal resuscitation. Expect a full-time daytime schedule with rotating weekends and holidays, with access to Ascension's education benefits and wellness

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• NRP certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Active RN license issued by Kansas Board of Nursing before hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program required.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of compassionate, evidence-based neonatal nursing care while upholding safety standards.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless, holistic patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions in real-time and communicate/document findings accurately.
• Initiate and manage discharge or transfer plans to ensure smooth transitions and continuous care.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring every action aligns with the highest safety standards and organizational excellence.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure patient care is seamless, holistic, and focused on the best possible clinical outcomes.
• Monitor and interpret patient conditions in real-time, acting as the vital link between the patient and the medical team through proactive communication and precise documentation.
• Advocate for the patient's journey by initiating and managing comprehensive discharge or transfer plans, ensuring transitions are smooth with uninterrupted care and support.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
