Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Medical ICU at Via Christi, St Francis in Wichita, KS. The role offers days, full-time schedule with a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and eligibility for tuition discounts through our academic partnership with Wichita State University.

You will lead patient care, advocate for patients, monitor clinical changes in real time, and manage discharge planning to support safe, confident transitions for families and patients.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

• Lead comprehensive patient care by implementing and adapting personalized care plans that prioritize safety, recovery, and the unique needs of every individual.
• Champion patient advocacy as the primary clinical coordinator, bridging the gap between multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless and holistic healing experience.
• Drive clinical excellence by accurately monitoring and communicating shifts in patient conditions, ensuring the medical team has the real-time data needed for life-saving decisions.
• Empower patient transitions by strategically managing the discharge planning process, ensuring patients and their families feel confident and supported as they move to the next stage of care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
