Job summary

Ascension's Via Christi, St Joseph in Wichita, KS, seeks an experienced RN for Labor and Delivery, full-time with day and night shifts and rotating weekends/holidays.

You will lead compassionate nursing care, coordinate a multidisciplinary team, monitor patients in real time, and plan safe discharges or transfers to ensure continuous, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Diploma in nursing or equivalent licensure at time of hire.
• Active Kansas RN license prior to hire date.
• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• ALS certification within 180 days of hire.
• NRP certification within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to ensure safety and excellence.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team for seamless, holistic patient care.
• Monitor and interpret patient conditions in real time with precise documentation.
• Initiate and manage discharge or transfer plans ensuring smooth transitions.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring every action aligns with the highest safety standards and organizational excellence.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure patient care is seamless, holistic, and focused on the best possible clinical outcomes.
• Monitor and interpret patient conditions in real-time, acting as the vital link between the patient and the medical team through proactive communication and precise documentation.
• Advocate for the patient's journey by initiating and managing comprehensive discharge or transfer plans, ensuring transitions are smooth with uninterrupted care and support.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
