Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a dedicated nurse to join the Medical ICU on the night shift. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, observe patient conditions, document outcomes, and communicate pertinent information to the team.

This role requires a Florida RN license, a nursing diploma, and BLS certification (ACLS preferred). ICU experience is preferred and will support safe, compassionate, person-centered care and a strong

• Required BLS and RN license in Florida.
• Diploma from accredited nursing program.
• Prior ICU or critical care exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assist with patient care including observation and documentation and communicate pertinent information to the registered nurse and care team.
• Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under the direction of the registered nurse preceptor.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Engage in transition to practice programs to develop clinical thinking and judgment for safe, person-centered care.

How you'll make an impact in this role

- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization and in collaboration with a registered nurse.
- Assist with patient care including observation and documentation of patient healthcare needs and communication of pertinent information to the registered nurse and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under the direction of the registered nurse preceptor.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans. Communicate, monitor and record changes in patient condition as appropriate.
- Actively engage and participate in transition to practice programs in order to develop clinical thinking and enhanced clinical judgment to provide safe, competent, person-centered care.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

- Required Credential(s): BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

- Preferred Credential(s): Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
