Mercy Fort Smith’s Med Surg Service Line seeks a registered nurse with at least one year of experience to provide compassionate care for adults in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.

The role emphasizes telemetry, cardiac and pulmonary care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ongoing professional growth within a nursing-first culture that offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in hiring state or compact licensure; must meet state board requirements.
• BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult acute care medical-surgical patients, including telemetry, respiratory care, and medication management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and high-quality outcomes.
• Support a busy Med Surg unit with cross-training across specialties.

Patient Population

Adult acute care medical-surgical unit specializing in pulmonary, cardiac, and telemetry patients. Nurses care for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, heart failure, arrhythmias, sepsis, renal disease, diabetes complications, and other complex illnesses, while developing expertise in telemetry, respiratory care, medication management, and collaborative patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet state board requirements.
• Certifications: American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
