Job summary

Mercy is seeking an RN to join our Med/Tele 5400 unit in Fort Smith. The 18-bed adult acute care medical-surgical unit specializes in pulmonary, cardiac, and telemetry care.

Nurses care for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions while developing expertise in telemetry, respiratory care, medication management, and collaborative patient care. This full-time role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible RNs with at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (AD, Diploma or BSN).
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for care for assigned patients.
• Evaluates overall care effectiveness by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality per Mercy standards.

Nurses care for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, heart failure, arrhythmias, sepsis, renal disease, diabetes complications, and other complex illnesses, while developing expertise in telemetry, respiratory care, medication management, and collaborative patient care.

• Patient Population: Adult acute care medical-surgical unit specializing in pulmonary, cardiac, and telemetry patients. Nurses care for patients with a wide variety of medical conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, heart failure, arrhythmias, sepsis, renal disease, diabetes complications, and other complex illnesses, while developing expertise in telemetry, respiratory care, medication management, and collaborative patient care.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet state board requirements.
• Certifications: American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required or obtained within 90 days of hire.
