Job summary

CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver culturally sensitive, evidence-based care in line with ANA standards and state requirements. You will use the Nursing Process to evaluate outcomes in a multidisciplinary, patient-focused model and complete an IV course and CPR certification during orientation.

You will work with a supportive team, ensuring high-quality care, appropriate discharge planning, and ongoing education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 3 years of hire.
• Graduate of CSMC Resident program, or Minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience required.
• Related experience preferred.
• NJ RN license required.
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS certification to be achieved within 6 months.
• Successful Completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course to be achieved within first year.
• CSMC IV Certification to be achieved within first year.
• Specialty professional nursing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides considerate respectful care focused upon the patient's individual needs to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Affirms the patient's right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care, including the decision to discontinue treatment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Successfully completes life-span education as appropriate.
• Obtains a complete nursing history and baseline assessment that is systematic, consistent and continuous.
• Documents results of patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care plan nursing interventions and evaluation and patient progress in medical record according to hospital/nursing policy.
• Analyzes patient information to determine nursing diagnosis and needs for appropriate nursing care, medical intervention or services of other clinical professionals.
• Identifies patient problems and formulates nursing diagnosis in collaboration with a multi disciplinary team.
• Includes patient and family in the development of an individualized plan of care.
• Administers medication as needed following policies and manufacturer's instructions.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and takes immediate actions in emergencies.
• Participates in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and quality improvement strategies.
• Delegates components of care to non-professional caregivers as appropriate.
• Demonstrates nursing judgment and critical thinking in patient care management.
• Follows CSHS Pain Assessment policy.
• Functions as Resource Nurse and supports leadership.
• Promotes teamwork and adheres to hospital policy regarding foley catheters.
• Float between units as RN and provide 1:1 patient observation when needed
