Job summary

Ascension in Wichita, KS is seeking a Nursing Leader to oversee Patient Support Services at Via Christi St. Francis. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care through cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead a team, mentor staff, and implement process improvements to elevate standards of care. Requirements include RN licensure in Kansas, 3+ years bedside experience and 1+ year leadership, plus strong data analytics and throughput improvement skills.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse credential from the Kansas Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• 3 years of bedside clinical experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Drive Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and cost-effective services while continuously evaluating performance metrics to elevate standards of care.
• Champion Data-Driven Throughput: Analyze clinical trends, operational data, and key performance indicators to design, implement, and refine throughput initiatives that eliminate bottlenecks and improve patient care delivery.
• L ead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical leadership and key stakeholders to identify operational challenges, implement new clinical services/systems, and execute smart cost-containment strategies.
• Inspire & Develop Top Talent: Build and mentor a high-performing team by leading recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance management strategies that empower staff to excel.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job
• transfer date required.

Education:

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative
• leadership experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

• Clinical & Leadership Foundations: 3–5 years of bedside clinical experience paired with 1–2 years of leadership experience.
• Data & Process Acumen: Proven ability to leverage data analytics to drive process improvement, measure success, and achieve operational targets.
• Decision-Making & Crisis Management: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage real-time crises calmly and make decisive, quality-focused decisions under pressure.
