Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Behavioral Health Unit in Appleton, WI. You will lead a team of nursing associates, drive professional development, recruitment, and onboarding to cultivate a high-performing group delivering compassionate care.

You will optimize staffing and budgets to ensure top-tier patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and uphold regulatory and accreditation standards through continuous quality improvement and collaboration with leadership teams.

Qualifications

• 3 years of clinical experience and 1 year of leadership experience required

• Champion clinical excellence by leading and empowering nursing associates, driving professional development, recruitment, and onboarding to cultivate a high-performing, compassionate healthcare team.
• Elevate patient care outcomes by proactively identifying operational bottlenecks, streamlining workflows, and ensuring full unit compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Direct strategic unit management by optimizing annual operational budgets, managing expenditures, and aligning staffing resources to ensure your team has everything needed to deliver top-tier care.
• Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement by analyzing clinical metrics, refining unit policies, and driving cross-functional collaboration across interdisciplinary leadership teams.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State. Licensure is dependent on state associate works in.

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Hospital leadership experience preferred.
• Behavioral health experience preferred.
