Job summary

Century Care Management in North Carolina is seeking a registered nurse to join our long-term care team. You will perform patient assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and families to promote resident dignity and safety.

The ideal candidate holds an ADN or BSN, a current RN license for NC, and experience in geriatric care. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skills are essential in this role.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of ADN or BSN program.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in NC.
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing preferred.
  • Knowledge of nursing processes, care planning, and clinical assessment.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive resident assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • CPR/BLS certification must be current.

Responsibilities

  • Record a patient’s medical history accurately.
  • Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
  • Observe patients under treatment to identify progress and side-effects of medications.
  • Monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts.
  • Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating and bathing.
  • Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas, etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks.
  • Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
  • Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
  • Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric nursing preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing processes, care planning, and clinical assessment
  • Ability to perform comprehensive resident assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Skilled in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy (where permitted), and complex clinical interventions
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising LPNs, CNAs, and other support staff
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities, including standards established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives, infection control programs, and regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to resident-centered care, advocacy, and maintaining resident dignity and safety
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
