Job summary

Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, KS is seeking an experienced registered nurse for Labor and Delivery on a rotating PRN schedule. You will deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, holistic patient outcomes.

Minimum requirements include BLS within 30 days of hire, AAP NRP certification within 180 days, and Kansas RN licensure. Advanced Life Support is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or transfer date
• AAP NRP certification within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or transfer date
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from Kansas Board of Nursing prior to hire date or transfer date
• ACLS preferred (not required)

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring every action aligns with the highest safety standards and organizational excellence.
• Coordinate a multidisciplinary team of specialists to ensure patient care is seamless, holistic, and focused on the best possible clinical outcomes.
• Monitor and interpret patient conditions in real-time, acting as the vital link between the patient and the medical team through proactive communication and precise documentation.
• Advocate for the patientâs journey by initiating and managing comprehensive discharge plans, ensuring a safe and successful transition from hospital to home.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Preferred: Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience on L&D required.
