Job summary

Ascension Health in Murfreesboro, TN, is hiring a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for full-time night shift. You’ll provide direct nursing care, follow clinical protocols, and participate in case management to support mothers and newborns.

You’ll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, coordinate discharge planning, and help ensure safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced obstetric setting. TN RN licensure and required certifications must be in place upon hire.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Tennessee or compact state) required.
• ALSO required: ALS within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire.
• Nursing diploma or approved licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care following standards and protocols.
• Implement care plans, monitor patient progress, document changes in real-time.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary care teams for seamless patient care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Clinical Governance: Executing direct nursing care while upholding strict organizational standards and medical protocols.

• Case Management & Monitoring: Actively implementing care plans, tracking patient progress, and documenting clinical changes in real-time.

• Interdisciplinary Leadership: Serving as the central point of contact to ensure seamless communication between all healthcare disciplines.

• Continuity of Care: Proactively assessing and organizing the resources needed for a safe and successful patient discharge.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
