Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN, is looking for a qualified nurse to support interventional radiology procedures. You will assist physicians during image-guided cardiovascular and diagnostic procedures, manage sedation and monitoring, and ensure sterile technique.

You will perform pre- and post-procedure care, educate patients and families, and coordinate with radiology, surgical teams, and inpatient units to optimize patient flow and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire.
• RN licensure in TN or multi-state license (Compact State) required.
• Advanced Life Support credentials desirable (ALS/ACLS).

• Assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided cardiovascular and diagnostic procedures while maintaining a sterile field.




• Administer moderate sedation, manage complex patient monitoring, and quickly react to changing clinical conditions in real time.




• Deliver specialized pre-procedure preparation, post-sheath removal recovery, and thorough access-site monitoring to ensure patient safety.




• Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education regarding procedure steps, sedation expectations, and post-discharge recovery guidelines.




• Coordinate interdisciplinary care across radiology, surgical teams, and inpatient units to streamline patient flow and optimize discharge planning.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.




• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition \"Compact State\" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.



• Preferred Credential(s):



• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
