Job summary

Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for IMCU to work nights at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. The IMCU is a 24-hour unit with a 0.9 FTE and 12-hour night shifts (7p-7:30a). This role offers a bonus-eligible position and a supportive team in a multidisciplinary setting.

The RN will provide nursing care for patients aged 12 and older and must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with Indiana licensure; BSN preferred and CPR/certifications required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
• BSN preferred.
• Obtains/maintains current CPR.
• Obtains/maintains current certifications in specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Implement, direct, communicate and document the nursing process.
• Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, Powers Health policies and procedures.

Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for IMCU to work nights at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

The IMCU West unit is a multidisciplinary 24 hour unit located on the third floor of the Parkview Tower in the hospital. Patients over the age of twelve years may be admitted to this unit, but the average age is 67 years. The highest volume of patients has a medical diagnosis, but surgical patients are also admitted. The most frequent diagnoses of include: angina, R/O or Post MI, cardiac dysrhythmia, CAD, COPD, CHF, pre-post PTCA, post stent, general surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring/observation post-op, diabetes, CVA, and peripheral vascular diseases.

Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.
• Practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Powers Health policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy ofPHby providing the highest quality care.
• Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
