Job summary

Powers Health in Munster, IN is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 12-hour day shift (7a-7:30p) on Med Surg 6 West at Community Hospital. This role involves implementing and documenting the nursing process for a diverse patient mix in a 26-bed unit with private rooms and isolation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
• BSN preferred.
• Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas.
• Obtains and maintains current CPR.

Responsibilities

• Implement, direct, communicate and document the nursing process.
• Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.

Education

Registered Nurse Job, 12 hour day shift (7a-7:30p), Med Surg 6 West

Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for 6 West to work days at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

6 West is a 26 bed medical/surgical floor with all private rooms including 6 negative pressure isolation rooms where the nursing staff provides high quality, individualized care to patients with a variety of chronic and acute medical/surgical conditions and gynecology overflow patients. The minimum age of patients admitted is 12 years of age, but the average age is 63 years. The unit has approximately 75% of the patients being surgical patients and 25% being general medical patients.

Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for implementing, directing, communicating and documenting the nursing process.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and associates.
• Practices in accordance with current established standards of care, the Nurse Practice Act, the Powers Health policies and procedures, and supports the mission and philosophy ofPHby providing the highest quality care.
• Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
