Job summary

Harris Health System is seeking a Nurse Clinician II (NCII) to provide skilled nursing care in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act and Harris County nursing standards. The NCII will independently manage common patient problems and know when to seek support.

Internal Float Pool NCII staff may work across units and pavilions, with registry and agency RNs also floating within services as needed. Strong clinical judgment and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Required for Internal Float Pool, Registry Nursing Services, & Agency RNs
• Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
• Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas
• Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program
• Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Responsibilities

• The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.
• Internal Float Pool NCIIs are expected to work in any unit within the assigned department(s).
• Registry Nursing Services NCIs and Agency RNs float within a Service, across multiple Services, within a Pavilion and/or across multiple pavilions.
