Job summary

Harris Health System in Texas seeks a Nurse Clinician II (NCII) who can independently manage common patient problems, follow standards, and float across units as needed. The role requires Texas RN licensure, BLS, and experience in internal float pools or registry nursing with strong communication skills.

The NCII will work within Harris Health's patient-care teams, collaborating with providers and staff to ensure safe, high-quality care across pavilions and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Required for Internal Float Pool, Registry Nursing Services, & Agency RNs
• Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
• Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas
• Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program
• Other certificates as required by unit/service.
• One (1) year full time RN experience or completion of GN Program
• Two (2) Years Work Experience in the area(s) of specialty for Registry NCs and Agency RNs
• Bilingual Skills Preferred
• Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
• Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking)
• Writing /Composing (Correspondence/Reports)
• P.C. Proficiencies

Responsibilities

• The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.
• Internal Float Pool NCIs are expected to work in any unit within the assigned department(s). Registry Nursing Services NCs and Agency RNs float within a Service, across multiple Services, within a Pavilion and/or across multiple pavilions.
