Job summary

Harris Health, serving Harris County, Texas, seeks a Nurse Clinician II to provide skilled clinical care in its public healthcare system. The NCII will independently manage common patient problems, work across units in the department, and float as needed while adhering to Nursing Service standards.

Candidate must hold Texas RN licensure, BLS certification, and may require a Bachelor's or Diploma in Nursing; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; Required for Internal Float Pool, Registry Nursing Services, & Agency RNs.
• Diploma in Nursing; Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas.
• Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association or Red Cross approved program.
• One year full-time RN experience or completion of GN Program.
• Two years work experience in the area(s) of specialty for Registry NCIs and Agency RNs.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Above average verbal, exceptional verbal, writing/composing, and PC proficiency.

Responsibilities

• NCII has knowledge to meet standards for professional practice and independently manages patients in assigned clinical area.
• Will float within a Service, across multiple Services, within a Pavilion and/or across multiple pavilions.
• Applies standards, principles and algorithms to clinical situations.
