Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an RN for the General Surgery 3W unit. The role involves delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process, with responsibilities to collaborate across departments and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

The position offers a full-time schedule of 36 hours per week, with night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am at a Mercy Hospital South location, providing opportunities to contribute to a compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• RN license required in hiring state or compact licensure.
• Must meet state board of nursing requirements.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of patient care experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Job Description

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
