Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an experienced RN for the General Surgery 3W inpatient unit. This full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) role involves nursing care on a general surgery floor, not the operating room, with a sign-on bonus available for experienced and new graduate nurses. Location: Mercy Hospital South, St.

Louis, MO. The role requires Missouri RN licensure or compact licensure, BLS, and a BSN/ADN or diploma.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: ADN, Nursing Diploma, BSN.
• Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact licensure.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.

Schedule:Full-Time | 36 hours/week

• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience):Up to$5,000

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
