Registered Nurse Unit Manager, RN Job Summary

Waterview Hills Campus is home to Waterview Hills and Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare: Two facilities committed to providing outstanding Subacute Rehab and Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care. Together, these facilities offer patients the best rehab and nursing care they can obtain after their hospital discharge.

• Perform professional supervision, guidance and direction to staff in clinical and personnel issues on the Long-Term or Short Term Unit.
• Coordinate resident care in accordance with State DOH regulations.
• Provide support to residents and families in dealing with clinical issues and challenges.
• Ensure staff adheres to safety and infection control guidelines.
• Assist in establishing daily operations of resident care on the unit, including bathing, toileting, meals, medication administration, and activities.
• Communicate pertinent information to the Interdisciplinary Team to meet resident/family needs.
• Perform daily rounds and assessments on all residents on the unit.
• Develop and document care plans for residents, including assessments and ongoing observations.
• Prepare resident assignments considering needs and staff competency.
• Organize, oversee, and supervise unit activities and staff, including assigning tasks to CNAs and monitoring care delivery.
• Communicate resident findings to the team and assist staff as needed.
• Orient new nursing personnel and perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or three years of experience in long-term care.
• Current licensure in New York State as a Registered Nurse.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in healthcare settings.
• Desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled.
• Knowledge of medical, social, and psychological needs of residents.
• Good judgment, communication skills, computer literacy, and ability to handle emergencies calmly.
• Covid-19 vaccinations encouraged but not mandated.
