Registered Nurse Unit Manager, RN Job Summary

Amazing opportunity to work in a BEAUTIFUL setting in the rolling hills of North Salem with a *5 Star Rated* Facility in Westchester County known for providing the highest quality care and resident experience. Waterview Hills Campus is home to Waterview Hills and Salem Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare: Two facilities committed to providing outstanding Subacute Rehab and Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care. Together, these facilities offer patients the best rehab and nursing care they can obtain after their hospital discharge.

  • Perform professional supervision, guidance and direction to staff in both clinical and personnel issues on the Long-Term or Short Term Unit.
  • Coordinate resident care in accordance with State DOH regulations.
  • Provide support to resident/families in dealing with clinical issues and challenges.
  • Ensure staff adheres to safety and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist in establishing daily operations of resident care on unit, including showers/baths, toileting, meals, medication administration, and activities.
  • Communicate pertinent information to other members of the Interdisciplinary Team to meet resident/family needs.
  • Perform daily rounds of all residents on the unit.
  • Perform assessments on residents as required - Admission, Elopement, Pain, etc.
  • Develop and document care plans for residents, and communicate these plans effectively.
  • Ensure proper documentation and assessment of residents' clinical observations.
  • Prepare resident assignments for CNAs considering their competencies.
  • Communicate ongoing resident, family, and facility concerns to staff.
  • Oversee and supervise unit activities and staff assignments, providing support and orientation as needed.
  • Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team regarding resident findings.
  • Assist staff in duties and perform other related tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or three (3) years experience in long term care.
  • Current licensure in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Desire to work with elderly, chronically ill, and handicapped populations.
  • Knowledge of medical, social, and psychological needs of residents.
  • Good judgment and calm response in emergencies.
  • Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Covid-19 vaccinations encouraged but not mandated; vaccination based on CDC guidelines.
