Job summary

Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX, is recruiting for a Registered Nurse Fellowship in Labor and Delivery. This on-site role offers a Night shift with start cohorts January 19 and February 15, 2027.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider (American Heart Association or Red Cross) within 1 month of hire date.
• Texas RN licensure prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program or equivalent licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care, observe and document health needs, and communicate pertinent information to the RN and interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under the RN preceptor.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Participate in transition-to-practice programs to develop clinical thinking and judgment for safe, competent care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assist with patient care including observation and documentation of patient healthcare needs and communication of pertinent information to the registered nurse and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.


• Assist with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders under the direction of the registered nurse preceptor.


• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Communicate, monitor and record changes in patient condition as appropriate.


• Participate in transition to practice programs in order to develop clinical thinking and enhanced clinical judgment to provide safe, competent, person-centered care.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
