Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Bartow Regional Medical Center ER. You will deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients and work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced setting.

This is a full-time, in-person role with hours 6:45 PM–7:15 AM and every other weekend. Bring ER nursing experience, a valid RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications to the team, contributing to patient safety and excellent outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor or higher in Nursing.
• 1 year ER nursing experience required.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in ER using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to the health care team.
• Organize and update plan of care in collaboration with patients and family.
• Identify at-risk patients and prepare room environment.
• Monitor vital signs and communicate changes to the care team.
• Respond to medical emergencies with decisive action.
• Maintain high emotional intelligence to clearly explain medical concepts to patients.

• Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• 1 year registered nurse ER experience
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others
• Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
