Job summary

Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for full-time night shifts. You will rapidly triage, stabilize, and provide direct emergency nursing care to high-acuity patients in accordance with hospital policies and trauma protocols.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Rapidly triage, stabilize, and provide direct emergency nursing care to high-acuity patients in accordance with hospital policies and trauma protocols.
• Continuously monitor patient status, perform precise vital and diagnostic assessments, and swiftly execute critical physician orders and medication administration.
• Serve as the primary clinical advocate to coordinate dynamic, multidisciplinary care during emergency interventions and streamline patient flow.
• Lead timely discharge planning and post-emergency transfer coordination alongside the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
