Job summary

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin in Austin, TX seeks an experienced RN for the Electrophysiology lab to deliver direct nursing care during complex EP procedures, including diagnostic studies and device implantations.

You’ll monitor real-time cardiac rhythms, assist with 3D mapping systems, and educate patients on post-procedure care, in a days schedule, full-time role within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Texas with BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• ACLS preferred but not required
• Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program
• Cath Lab or EP experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct nursing care during complex EP procedures including diagnostic studies and device implantations.
• Monitors real-time intracardiac signals and patient vitals while managing sedation.
• Operates EP lab equipment and mapping systems with sterile technique.
• Educates patients on recovery and post-procedure care.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Delivers direct nursing care during complex cardiac electrophysiology (EP) procedures, including diagnostic EP studies, advanced 3D ablation mapping, and device implantations.
• Monitors real-time intracardiac electrograms, continuous hemodynamics, and cardiac rhythms while administering conscious sedation and titrating antiarrhythmic medications.
• Prepares and operates specialized EP lab technology, including ablation generators, mapping systems, and temporary pacemakers, while maintaining sterile fields.
• Manages immediate post-procedure care, monitoring access sites for bleeding or vascular complications and educating patients on device care and recovery protocols.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Cath Lab or EP experience preferred
• Critical Care experience preferred
