Job summary

AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The role includes documenting care, assessing patient data, and educating patients and families throughout the care continuum.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year acute care nursing experience and 2+ years endoscopy experience; BLS CPR cert is required, RN license active. Flexible scheduling and call requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and providers during procedures.
• Monitor and document patient health status.
• Communicate with patient and interprofessional team to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Mentor other staff; provide nursing education.
• Document nursing care accurately and completely.
• Assess and document patient health data systematically.
• Establish nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.
• Plan and implement individualized nursing interventions.
• Provide education to patients and families before, during, and after procedures.
• Administer and evaluate pharmacological and therapeutic treatments.

Job Description:

• Assists physicians and advanced providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Recognizes and responds appropriately to changes in patient health status.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with the patient and interprofessional team to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Acts as a resource and mentor for other staff members.
• Documents nursing care accurately and completely.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to function at a high level in a physically demanding, high-stress environment
• Demonstrated ability to work under stressful conditions
• Ability to work irregular hours including call hours
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft® Word and the ability to navigate Microsoft Windows based programs
• Displays working knowledge of endoscopic techniques
• Experience in critical care environments such as ICU, CCU, PCU, PACU, or similar settings is [Preferred]
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic documentation is [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ years acute care nursing experience [Required]
• 2+ years endoscopy experience [Preferred]
