Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for the CVU floor on a part-time day shift (7:00 am - 7:30 pm) with every third weekend and rotating holidays. The staff nurse provides direct patient care, documents care plans, and adheres to Delaware Nursing Practice Act policies.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor preferred), active Delaware RN licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing highly preferred.
• Active RN Licensure in Delaware.
• BLS Certification required.
• At least two years of step-down or PCU experience.
• ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
• Identifies patient needs based on data and documents.
• Implements nursing actions for identified patients.
• Makes decisions reflecting knowledge and judgment.
• Discusses with patient/family about planned care and documents outcomes.
• Utilizes multidisciplinary approach to deliver patient care.
• Instructs and documents follow-up care/preparations for transfer or discharge.
• Evaluates patient understanding of instructions.

Shift
Part-time day shift (7:00 am - 7:30 pm) / Every third weekend & rotating holiday's
The staff nurse is a registered professional nurse who plans and renders nursing care within an assigned nursing unit. He/she gives direct patient care and maintains clinical records reflecting the patient's condition, medication, treatment, examination, and progress according to the Delaware Nursing Practice Act and St. Francis Hospital's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.

• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.

• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.

• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.

• Discusses with and includes patient and/or family, significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.

• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.

• Instructs and documents patient in follow-up care/ activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.

• Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing highly preferred

• Active RN Licensure in State of Delaware

• BLS Certification required

• At least two years' of step down or PCU experience required

• Must obtain ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire
