Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the CVU floor with potential cross-training in the ICU. This per diem, part-time position features rotating shifts, every-other-weekend coverage, and rotating holidays.

The staff nurse delivers direct patient care, assesses and plans care, and maintains clinical records in accordance with Delaware Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies, while working with a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active RN license in Delaware.
• BLS certification required.
• At least two years' of step-down or PCU experience.
• ACLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards and conducts comprehensive patient assessments with planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment within 24 hours of admission.
• Identifies patient needs from objective data and documents accordingly.
• Implements appropriate nursing actions for each patient and uses sound clinical judgment.
• Communicates with patients and families about care plans and expected outcomes, documenting them.
• Coordinates care with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and effective delivery of services.
• Educates patients about follow-up care and prepares for transfer or discharge.
• Evaluates patient and family understanding of instructions.

Description: Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join the team on our CVU floor with the possibility to cross-train in the ICU!

Shift Details: Per Diem Mixed Shift / Every other weekend & rotating holiday's

The staff nurse is a registered professional nurse who plans and renders nursing care within an assigned nursing unit. He/she gives direct patient care and maintains clinical records reflecting the patient's condition, medication, treatment, examination, and progress according to the Delaware Nursing Practice Act and St. Francis Hospital's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discusses with and includes patient and/or family, significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
• Instructs and documents patient in follow‑up care/ activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.
• Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.

Qualified candidates

• ASN Required, BSN Preferred, from an accredited school of nursing
• Active RN Licensure in State of Delaware
• BLS Certification required
• At least two years' of step down or PCU experience required
• Must obtain ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire
