Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks experienced Registered Nurses for our CVU floor with potential cross-training in ICU. The position is a part-time, per diem mixed shift (every other weekend and rotating holidays) on a rotating schedule.

Ideal candidates hold ASN with BSN preferred, Delaware RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS within 3 months. Two years of step-down/PCU experience is required, and responsibilities include direct patient care, assessments, and documenting

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Active RN Licensure in Delaware.
• BLS Certification required.
• At least two years' of step down or PCU experience required.
• Must obtain ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards and performs comprehensive patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment within 24 hours of admission.
• Identifies patient needs and documents findings precisely.
• Implements nursing actions and documents outcomes.
• Engages patient/family in planned care and education.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary team for care delivery.
• Instructs and documents follow-up care/preparation for transfer or discharge.
• Evaluates patient understanding of instructions.

Per Diem Mixed Shift / Every other weekend & rotating holiday's

The staff nurse is a registered professional nurse who plans and renders nursing care within an assigned nursing unit. He/she gives direct patient care and maintains clinical records reflecting the patient’s condition, medication, treatment, examination, and progress according to the Delaware Nursing Practice Act and St. Francis Hospital’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities Include

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discusses with and includes patient and/or family, significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
• Instructs and documents patient in follow-up care/ activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.
• Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.

Qualified Candidates Will Possess The Following

• ASN Required, BSN Preferred, from an accredited school of nursing
• Active RN Licensure in State of Delaware
• BLS Certification required
• At least two years' of step down or PCU experience required
• Must obtain ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire
