Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, seeks experienced Registered Nurses to join the CVU floor with the potential to cross-train in the ICU. This full-time night shift runs 7:00 pm–7:00 am, with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

The staff nurse plans and renders nursing care, maintains clinical records, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in Delaware.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in Delaware
• Associates Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's preferred
• BLS required; ACLS within 3 months
• Minimum 2 years step-down or PCU experience

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards and conducts assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form within 24 hours of admission.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and documents actions.
• Implements nursing actions tailored to each patient requiring care.
• Makes decisions reflecting knowledge and sound judgment.
• Informs and involves patient/family about planned care and outcomes, with documentation.
• Utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
• Educates and documents patient on follow-up care/preparation for transfer/discharge.
• Evaluates patient and family understanding of instructions.

Shift

Full-time night shift (7:00 pm - 7:00 am) / Every other weekend & rotating holiday's

The staff nurse is a registered professional nurse who plans and renders nursing care within an assigned nursing unit. He/she gives direct patient care and maintains clinical records reflecting the patient’s condition, medication, treatment, examination, and progress according to the Delaware Nursing Practice Act and St. Francis Hospital’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Completes a Nursing Assessment form on each patient within 24 hours.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discusses with and includes patient and/or family, significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.
• Instructs and documents patient in follow-up care/ activities in preparation for transfer/discharge.
• Evaluates the patient's/significant other's understanding of instructions.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing highly preferred
• Active RN Licensure in State of Delaware
• BLS Certification required
• At least two years' of step down or PCU experience required
• Must obtain ACLS Certification within 3 months of hire
