Ascension Health in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking an experienced RN to join the Med Surg unit as a charge nurse. This evening, full-time role focuses on leadership, coordinating patient assignments, and serving as a clinical resource for the team.

You will lead recovery after cardiac, IR, and EP procedures, monitor post-procedural status in real time, and advocate for seamless care across disciplines. The discharge process is coordinated to ensure families transition with clarity and confidence.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.
• Registered Nurse licensure required before hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program; RN credentialing per TN board.

Responsibilities

• Provide charge nurse leadership, support staff, assign patients, act as clinical resource.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• â Provides charge nurse leadership, supporting nursing staff, coordinating patient assignments, and serving as a clinical resource on the unit.
• â Lead the specialized recovery of patients following Cardiac, IR, and EP procedures, ensuring every intervention meets rigorous safety standards and clinical protocols.
• â Monitor and evaluate post-procedural recovery in real-time, communicating vital clinical shifts to the care team to ensure immediate response and personalized care adjustments.
• â Coordinate as the central advocate between specialized disciplines to ensure a seamless, well-navigated care journey for both inpatient and outpatient populations.
• â Manage the full discharge process, ensuring patients and families transition from the unit with clarity and confidence.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• â BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• â Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• â Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• â Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
