Job summary

Ascension Women's Health Lakeway in Austin, Texas seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time position in the Lakeway OBGYN department. You will provide direct nursing care, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and support evidence-based discharge planning to ensure safe patient transitions home.

The role requires a Texas RN license, BLS within 1 month of hire, and an active nursing education pathway (Diploma or Alternate Entry MSN with ongoing progression).

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required OR a bachelor's level degree not in nursing, an active RN License, and enrolled in an Alternate Entry MSN Program with a minimum of 1 year in the program completed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care following clinical policies to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Develop and monitor individualized care plans, documenting patient progress to adapt to needs.
• Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and staff for holistic outcomes.
• Execute physician and nursing orders accurately to advance treatment plans.
• Support discharge planning from day one to ensure safe home transitions.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Deliver exceptional direct nursing care by championing established clinical policies and protocols to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and well-being.
• Drive and monitor individualized care plans, continuously assessing and documenting patient progress to dynamically adapt to their evolving healthcare needs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams, serving as the central hub of communication between physicians, specialists, and support staff for seamless, holistic patient outcomes.
• Execute physician and nursing orders with precision, acting swiftly and accurately to advance the patient's treatment plan.
• Champion the discharge planning process from day one, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure patients and families transition home safely and confidently.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required OR a bachelors level degree not in nursing, an active RN License, and enrolled in an Alternate Entry Masters of Science in Nursing Program with a minimum of 1 year in the program completed.

Additional Preferences

• Certified Registered Nurse (RN) with 2 years of dedicated experience.
• Proven background in women's health, spanning both outpatient settings and hospital environments.
